Studies and Tech

I'm about ready to write my second TMA I'll need to get cracking on it as I wont be around on the actual submittal day - I'll be on the way back from the states. I hope I do aswell or better then on my first one, it'll be a bit dissappointing if I slip back from the 78% I received.

So I finally got my results for the first teacher marked assignment. 78%, gotta say for the first essay I've thrown together in over ten years I'm quite happy with that result, lets hope I can keep improving it as time goes on!

The modules on the whole isn't very difficult but it has let me see a few interesting ideas for future direction. Get this degree under my belt and a decent grade of jlpt then maybe embark on a life in social science lol. Who knows.

So I started up my studies again, doing 2 hours on social studies and an hour on Japanese.

I got halfway though the introductionary workbook, now it gets a bit more complicated. I also have my first tutor session on Saturday, hopefully it will be a good experiance.

Things of interest of late, swine flu and the media maddness related. The governments in ability to distance reality from fantasy especially in the realm of sexual fantasy and their desire for censorship. The governments desire to monitor the people in some mass stazi esq escapade of silent oppression.

The notion of "nothing to hide" most people do have things they'd like to hide, at least from an over zealous law enforcment establishment. Things that if the civil authorities had net access to discover they would fine you on the spot. Examples of such actions that would receive such fines, keeping money when you have been given too much change, keeping money you find on the floor, writing something untrue about someone you know in an email, smocking dope, so on and so forth.

Those are all against the law and all technically could result in a fine, also if you think about the powers that be ever increasing desire to sanitise the internet so that it is a "safe" place for children and adults alike what is the possibility of "asbos" for internet "abusers" by abuse I mean someone who swears alot in a public forum (such as a discussion board or a blog.)

So I'd been hearing about "Spotify" like it was the second coming of christ or some such dross. So I finally give it a shot - and damn man it's a crock of crap. I did five searches for music and gave up, the catalog is crap, the groups that were there I'd never heard of.

I suppose if I like poltry pop made for morons I'd be fapping over it too but it's lack of anything substantial consign it to the dustbin of tat until they get themselves a decent catalog.
