Another Reboot

Sat at a table with Reina. Heart pounding like crazy, literally shaking, I wonder if it’s fear or excitement? I suspect a good dose of both. So how did I end up here a mere meter and a half away from Reina who seems half slouched in her seat? Simple enough – we planned well and told no one of our plans. This is much the way everyone else achieved a similar feat.

Now Lampshade and I have different approaches to this, I tend to go where a conversation takes me and he prepares questions before hand. With hindsight I could have done with a bit of preparation – but no point crying over spilt milk right?

So we get there 20 minutes or so early and are pretty near in queue – good stuff. Now we still don’t know if MM are gonna be at the event, and if they aren’t it’s just a very expensive breakfast. But thems the risks ya’ take. As time closes in the nervousness levels up and more folk arrive obviously wanting to talk to the girls. Feels like the start of a cold war, silent strategies forming as to how to manoeuvre the room that we havnt’ seen yet.

So the girls appear and everyone has got the same thing going through their minds no doubt “Holy shit they’re here! We might get to talk to them! I think I just crapped myself! Holy shit I gotta keep cool can’t fanboy out.” So it was quiet, people trying to catch a glimpse of the girls but doing their upmost not to seem disagreeable. A few more minutes go by and we’re allowed in, you never seen so many people walk in such a controlled manner, slow determined, and urgent. There was Reina and co, a table at the far end; I knew I was getting down on the first bout so I picketed a seat on the American voice actors table that’d blocked my view of Reina at the opening ceremony. Suffice to say I forgive her for that now.

So the first people to sit down get an extra 3 minutes with the girls – darn them. Once the first round was up I’m up and switch, the chair I’d been in for the past 15 minutes was right behind the chair opposite Reina.

Okay so here I am, face to face with the prettiest girl in the world – kill me then and there and I’d have got to die at the peak of happiness in the warm glow of a goddess. Starting points Reina’s gaze is soft and warm – unlike the stabbing eyes of LinLin.

I was on a table with Reina, Eri, Gaki and, Sayu. Gaki looks like she needs serious feeding, I shit you not – her head looks way, way, way, too small for her body and her body isn’t big.

Okay back to the fact that Reina is sat there focused on myself and an awesome lass called Kimi that also sat down at the table (sadly for her she was an Ai fan but heyho.) So we have the main translator behind us, the one who has torn so many fanboys hearts and earn’t much scorn for her labours – I don’t mind her so much – she’s doing a job that I couldn’t do (translate and keep hoards of marauding H!P fans at bay.)

Oh another thing is that I have at the back of my mind this “don’t stare, change focus every now and again, la da da la” Seriously it’s like when you need to wait for a female friend in the underware section of a store. Must not stare at Reina… She is however too cute and she has a hip little out fit that suits her down to the ground and nice make up on. Oooo and nothing prepares you for how small she is I mean seriously she’s like a tiny fairy. However a tiny fairy jam packed with attitude and personality.

The translator prompts us, I’m hoping the girl(Kimi) next to me is gonna be a right chatter box – however no such luck she’s a star struck as I am. The translator has her hand on my shoulder and tells the girls that I’m literally shaking T_T so now I’ve got fear excitement and embarrassment. The girls are sympathetic and adorably supportive (ganbarra ganbarra, eri going “be cool.”)

A moment or so passes and we introduce ourselves, and tell them where we’re from the girls are all “wow thankyou for coming from England” Kimi asks if they’d managed to go to a hotdog bar they’d spoken about but they hadn’t. I asked Reina if she was jet lagged, and she was all “not really but the time goes so fast.” I get asked how I came to be into MM – ho ho ho

“Well I used to be into AKB48”
“Arghh that’s awful” goes the translator.
“Indeed – then people told me to check out MM so I heard Joshi and that was it I was hooked.” Sayu I think asked who my favourite akb member was and I said Erepyon, and she was oo Erena Ono, how did you know her? From dvds and the like. Maybe Sayu’s an erepyon fan too? lol

So I avoid a lynching, but the girls are all “awww so cute” as I get bullied by the translator, I spent a lot of this 15 minutes trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Reina asks what bread is like in the UK, as they sell “English” bread in Japan, took me a moment to remember that Japanese bread is not so good, so Reina declares that she wants to come to England to eat bread – a funny reason to want to come to the UK but if she wants bread – she can have bread.

They ask what places they should go to eat in LA and Kimi and I are all errr hmmm and we explain that seen as were in convention mode we just eat at really cheap places and have little time because we spend so long in queues queuing for MM the girls again coo over this.

They ask where they should go if they come to England – I can only think of Buckingham palace. By the time I think of something else we’re moving onto the next question lol. Reina wants to know what British food there is, I say roast beef, Reina likes that idea. I'd thought of Vindaloo afterwards but again too late.

The translator asks if I have a favourite girl a funny question given my Reina t-shirt, and Reina arm bands, but I’m more then happy to declare my allegiance more clearly. I say Reina and show my Platinum 9 phone strap to Reina and she’s all ^_^ Thankyou. It’s clear she only knows one thing to say in English lol, but it’s cute and I’m such a sap infront of her.

Somehow it got onto the amount of stuff I'd bought, and the translator was like "wow you're rich - go and buy all the MM and Hangry angry stuff" I'm like "I already have the MM stuff..." I got bullied again but the girls were on my side lol.

They ask if we’ve been to Japan, I say yeah we went twice and we got to see the resonant blue concert 6 times, they were impressed, mentioned I’d seen Berryz twice aswell, Reina was displeased and warned me not to get onto any Berryz concert dvds or she’d be angry! LoL

And that was the end. Well almost – when the girls were leaving Reina was giving little queen like waves to everyone until she sees me waving like a mad (but well behaved thing) and she lit up and gave a big wave back. We sat around and drank some coffee and orange then sent Tom a text saying “just spent 15 minutes with Reina” lol.
